I was finally able to get remote control of the Philips Hue bridge without using their remote API. And magically, the Dropcam error stopped happening. That was after they suggested I 'uninstall and reinstall my browsers.'
It's been running for 24 hours now. I posted a link on Twitter and on Facebook and tracked the results.
There were a total of 62 sessions with the website, from posting two tweets and one Facebook post. As predicted, folks couldn't resist the red button.
It's a strange feeling knowing that folks are actually watching you, versus the silent upload and processing that Dropcam normally does in the cloud. Sometime during the night I finally had to unplug the light in my bedroom because people were pressing the red button and causing the light to flash.
